A United Nigeria Aircraft scheduled for arrival in Abuja on Friday was forced to divert back to Port Harcourt due to bad weather conditions in Abuja.

Flight number US 0515 from Port Harcourt to Abuja departed Port Harcourt with clear and good weather forecast, but on approaching Abuja it experienced moderate turbulence which necessitated diverting back to Port Harcourt as weather conditions were below the airline’s operating requirements.

In a press release, the management of the airline commended the crew who they hailed for making the “correct decision to return to Port Harcourt.”

“Our experienced crew acted with utmost professionalism which the passengers highly and profusely commended and complimented… At United Nigeria, we take safety seriously and as our number one priority and we reassure you that our crew exercise utmost care in all situations,” commented the airline.

United Nigeria Airlines has its operating base at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu. Founded by Dr Obiora Okonkwo, the airline flies across 6 different destinations in Nigeria with a current fleet of 4 ERJ-145 jetliners.
